TL;DR

Staff Electrical Design Engineer (Aerospace): Leading the development of next-generation flight control and motor control electronics for military aviation platforms with an accent on system architecture, power electronics, and complex circuit design. Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to East Aurora, NY or Torrance, CA (Hybrid)

Salary: $145,000–$220,000

What you will do

  • Serve as the electronics box architect for flight control computers and motor control systems.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams including mechanical, software, and power electronics specialists.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, programs, and vendors.
  • Design flight control electronics, including high-power motor inverters, gate drives, and feedback circuits.
  • Oversee Validation & Verification (V&V) efforts and qualification testing procedures.
  • Mentor and coach engineers to promote strong technical rigor and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. person with access to export-controlled information.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred).
  • 10+ years of circuit card design experience.
  • 5+ years of technical team leadership experience.
  • Experience in the design, analysis, and development of closed-loop motor drives.
  • Familiarity with commercial and military standards such as RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and RTCA/DO-254.
