What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team of engineers to identify and execute cost-down opportunities.
• Develop and execute the value engineering project roadmap aligned with business cost targets.
• Manage department budgets, personnel administration, project staffing, and recruitment.
• Provide technical guidance, oversight, and leadership to engineering design staff.
• Establish and report on KPIs and cost reduction performance to senior management.
• Drive a culture of cost awareness and optimization across engineering teams.

Requirements

• Must be local to North Reading, MA; no relocation provided.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (MS or PhD preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical design within semiconductor equipment or complex electromechanical systems.
• Proven ability to manage third-party design resources and contract engineering services.
• Strong technical fluency across hardware, software, thermal, and mechanical domains.
• Deep understanding of the development process for electro-mechanical products.
