Project Planner

TL;DR

Project Planner (Construction): Build and maintain pre-construction and construction programmes aligned to tender requirements, ensuring delivery milestones and contractual updates. Focus on critical path management, risk/delay assessment, and coordinating programme alignment across tender, operations, and commercial teams.

Location: Hybrid role based in the South of England (Swanley/Dartford area) with occasional movement between sites

What you will do

• Develop detailed pre-construction and construction programmes aligned to tender stage requirements and confirm deliverability with operations teams.
• Maintain operational programmes, ensuring projects meet key milestones and submit regular programme updates to Operations and Commercial managers.
• Assess and report risks and delays, incorporating them into the project schedule and driving resolution of Risk & Issue logs.
• Identify and manage the critical path, working with the wider team to mitigate slippage.
• Liaise with on-site operations teams to understand resource profiles and productivity assumptions.
• Collaborate with quantity surveyors and commercial teams to align programmes with commercial forecasting and run programme review sessions with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Programme Planner in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project (essential) and strong Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and data interrogation skills, with excellent understanding of project and risk management principles.
• Experience with bid/tendering processes and programme submissions.
• Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to regional sites.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
