Fraud Investigator (Fintech)

Fraud Investigator (Fintech): Reviewing fraud alerts and conducting in-depth investigations into suspicious account activity with an accent on payment vehicles and cryptocurrency. Location: Must be based in Denver, CO. This role is hybrid with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $28–$33 USD per hour (plus bonus and equity).

What you will do

• Conduct in-depth investigations on accounts flagged for fraud across various payment vehicles, including cryptocurrency.
• Perform outbound calls to customers to discuss account activity using strategic interview techniques.
• Apply critical thinking and pattern detection to proactively identify emerging fraud trends.
• Document the rationale and determination for each alert.
• Refer complex cases to cross-functional teams including product, engineering, legal, and compliance.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in fraud investigations, including knowledge of Account Takeovers, Identity Theft, and Money Movement Fraud.
• Must be based in Denver, CO and able to work from the office at least 3 days per week.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams such as legal, compliance, or financial crimes.
