What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of experienced engineers, fostering a culture of ownership.
• Partner with Product and Go-To-Market teams to shape the Returns Platform roadmap and execution plans.
• Guide technical decisions across backend services, APIs, distributed systems, and rules engines.
• Manage the talent lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career growth.
• Champion the integration of AI into engineering development workflows to enhance quality and efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven leadership track record coaching senior engineers in a SaaS, platform, or B2B environment.
• Strong technical background in Python and its ecosystem (e.g., Django) for design reviews and technical guidance.
• Experience building highly configurable enterprise products.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to communicate with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
• Must be based in Germany.

Nice to have

• Domain expertise in e-commerce, logistics, returns, or supply chain platforms.
• Deep familiarity with Shopify, carrier integrations, or merchant tooling.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS, Terraform, or event-driven architecture.
• Experience building AI-assisted product capabilities or agent-driven workflows.
• Experience leading remote or internationally distributed teams.
