What you will do
- Lead and coach high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams.
- Own engineering delivery outcomes, ensuring alignment with sprint goals and value-driven development.
- Partner with Product Managers to maintain well-shaped backlogs and clear delivery standards.
- Provide technical leadership on architecture, security, and cloud-native design.
- Manage team health, career progression, and performance development.
- Collaborate with Operations and Programme teams to ensure live service health and operational resilience.
Requirements
- Must be based in the UK (no visa sponsorship provided).
- 2+ years of experience leading software engineering teams in complex or regulated environments.
- Strong background in Java, Spring Boot, RDBMS, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with AWS and event-driven architectures.
- Proven track record in delivering product-led, agile software.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams.
Nice to have
- Experience in financial services, specifically pensions and ISA products.
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Experience working in agent-first organizations.
