What you will do

• Set and execute the software engineering strategy across legacy and modern platforms.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of Backend and Frontend Engineering Managers.
• Drive AI-enabled engineering initiatives to integrate AI tools for improved quality and efficiency.
• Oversee migration projects from legacy systems to scalable, distributed AWS cloud architectures.
• Define engineering standards, best practices, and sustainable ways of working.
• Collaborate with C-level leadership and product teams to align technology with business goals.

Requirements

• Proven experience in senior leadership (Director or equivalent) with a track record of scaling teams.
• Practical experience in AI-driven software development and applying AI tools to the SDLC.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS, Node.js, TypeScript, and React.
• Hands-on understanding of distributed systems and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Must be based in or able to work hybridly from Leeds, UK.
• Strong strategic thinking and excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
