Director Production Engineering (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Define and execute the production engineering roadmap for scalable serial production.
• Lead production, process, and manufacturing engineers while establishing process ownership and governance.
• Own assembly, integration, and test processes for complex electromechanical and aerospace systems.
• Convert development procedures into production-ready standards, lead manufacturing readiness reviews, and stabilize pilot builds.
• Manage PLM/MES manufacturing data, including digital work instructions, mBOMs, BOPs, routings, work centers, and traceability.
• Drive production support, corrective actions, lean improvements, capital planning, KPI management, training, and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field.
• Significant experience in production or manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or manufacturing operations for complex electromechanical systems.
• Proven experience leading teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of PLM and/or MES, mBOM/BOP, routings, work instructions, and configuration control.
• Experience with structured troubleshooting and problem-solving methods such as 8D, Ishikawa, and 5-Why, plus project and program management.
• Fluent English required; German or other languages may be needed depending on site requirements.
