Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own manufacturing engineering execution for assigned products, modules, and components throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead manufacturing process definition, workflow development, NPI readiness, and transition from prototype builds to production.
• Drive DFM/DFA collaboration with Design Engineering and support manufacturing trade studies focused on process selection, cost, and scalability.
• Develop manufacturing requirements, tooling concepts, process flows, routings, technical standards, and production documentation.
• Identify manufacturing risks and lead root cause investigations and corrective actions affecting cost, quality, schedule, yield, cycle time, and throughput.
• Partner with plant manufacturing engineering teams, participate in Integrated Product Teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting manufacturing engineering through NPI and production environments.
• Experience with machining, assembly, additive manufacturing, welding, or other complex manufacturing processes.
• Experience leading DFM/DFA activities and resolving manufacturing or quality challenges through structured problem-solving.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with aerospace propulsion systems, rotating machinery, flight hardware, or additive manufacturing production.
• Knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, control plans, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with AS9100-certified manufacturing environments, LRIP, production ramp activities, or advanced manufacturing methods.
• Experience in startup, high-growth, or rapidly changing engineering organizations.
