What you will do
- Design and develop innovative combustor cooling schemes and full-life combustor systems.
- Perform stress, lifing, and hot-to-cold deflection analyses using NX and ANSYS.
- Propose and evaluate new material choices to support full-life combustor performance.
- Contribute to combustion design methodology and multi-dimensional aerodynamic and heat transfer analysis.
- Conduct combustion rig tests to validate design performance.
- Collaborate with aerodynamicists, manufacturing teams, and project groups to ensure design ownership.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
- Expertise in NX and ANSYS software.
- Proven experience in mechanical design of systems subject to high thermal loads.
- Familiarity with combustor manufacturing approaches, cooling schemes, and materials.
- Strong communication skills for technical presentations and cross-functional collaboration.
Nice to have
- Experience in CFD analysis.
- Strong background in hot-section manufacturing.
- Familiarity with combustion aerodynamics.
- Evidence of presenting technical papers at conferences.
