TL;DR

Regulatory Compliance Engineer (RF/EMC): Leading FCC certification and environmental qualification testing for AI-enabled radar and sensing systems with an accent on RF/EMI troubleshooting and regulatory strategy. Focus on driving root-cause analysis for test failures and partnering with engineering teams to integrate compliance into product design from the early stages.

Location: Must be based in Hoffman Estates, IL (Onsite)

Compensation: $100,000–$180,000

What you will do

  • Lead FCC compliance testing and certification activities for wireless and radar products (Part 15, 87, 90).
  • Plan and execute transmitter compliance testing, including output power, bandwidth, and emissions measurements.
  • Coordinate certification activities with external compliance labs and Telecom Certification Bodies (TCBs).
  • Support environmental qualification testing, including shock, vibration, temperature, and humidity.
  • Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions to improve compliance margins.
  • Partner with hardware, RF, and firmware teams to build compliance into product designs early.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work onsite at the Hoffman Estates facility.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Systems Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, RF testing, or qualification testing.
  • Proven experience with FCC intentional radiator certification (Part 15, 87, or 90).
  • Strong understanding of RF system behavior, EMI mitigation, grounding, and shielding.
  • Hands-on lab experience with debugging and test plan development.

Nice to have

  • Experience with radar systems or advanced sensing technologies.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 environmental standards.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or telecommunications industries.
