TL;DR

Director of Business Development (Energy): Leading growth efforts for Demand Side Management (DSM) portfolios across the Northeast region with an accent on utility-scale sales and strategic account management. Focus on expanding footprint in energy efficiency, demand response, and electrification programs while driving revenue through complex deal closures.

Location: Must be located in the Northeastern United States with approximately 50% regional travel required.

Salary: $155,000–$175,000 base plus commission.

What you will do

  • Secure new revenue with electric and gas utilities in the Northeastern US.
  • Develop and implement integrated sales strategies and account plans.
  • Partner with delivery and operations teams to provide customized client solutions.
  • Achieve annual sales quota goals and expand service offerings.
  • Lead proposal development and provide strategic guidance on competitive positioning.
  • Maintain relationships with key utility clients and strategic partners.

Requirements

  • Must be located in the Northeastern United States.
  • 8+ years of experience working with and selling to electric and gas utilities.
  • Proven understanding of state regulatory cycles for DSM, EE, DR, and electrification programs.
  • Established mid- to senior-level relationships with utilities in the Northeast.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time for client visits and industry conferences.
