Senior Software Engineer (PHP/Laravel/Vue)

Location: Remote within the United States, with occasional in-person office meetings required for candidates in the Madison, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, or South Salt Lake metro areas.

Salary: $100,000–$144,000 base salary annually, plus potential discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of a scalable SaaS product using Laravel, Vue, and Tailwind CSS.
• Build and maintain secure, performant RESTful APIs and single-page applications.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, program teams, and other cross-functional partners to align software with customer and business needs.
• Debug complex full-stack issues and support deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and the full software development lifecycle.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor software engineers, and contribute to engineering standards and strategic product direction.
• Develop software supporting energy efficiency, electrification, load flexibility, and decarbonization initiatives.

Requirements

• Advanced PHP 8.x expertise and 10+ years of hands-on experience with PHP frameworks, including Laravel.
• 6+ years of experience with Vue or similar JavaScript frameworks, including TypeScript, Composition API, state management, and modular component design.
• Experience designing scalable SaaS platforms, RESTful APIs, AWS cloud infrastructure, serverless environments, and Laravel deployment patterns.
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows, build tools such as Vite and npm, and cloud monitoring and alerting systems such as New Relic and CloudWatch.
• Experience writing testable code and tests with Pest or PHPUnit, working in Agile/Scrum teams, and solving complex technical problems independently.
• Must currently reside in the United States; visa sponsorship or extensions are not available.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• Experience developing commercial SaaS products.
• Experience with data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence platforms.
• Familiarity with Node.
