HR Advisor (Employee Relations): Providing comprehensive generalist HR advice and managing complex employee relations casework for schools and businesses with an accent on trade union consultation, employment legislation, and disciplinary, sickness, capability, and grievance matters. Focus on resolving challenging cases, advising senior leaders, supporting formal hearings, developing HR policies and training resources, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Location: Wakefield, England, United Kingdom; hybrid working

What you will do
- Provide generalist and specialist HR advice on employee relations, recruitment, wellbeing, performance, attendance, organisational change, and employment policies.
- Manage a varied caseload involving disciplinary, sickness, capability, grievance, conduct, and employee relations matters.
- Advise and represent clients at formal meetings and hearings, including trade union consultations and negotiations.
- Build effective relationships with senior leaders, client representatives, colleagues, and union representatives.
- Support HR audits, training, briefing sessions, policy updates, client assignments, and development of HR resources.
- Maintain accurate case records, support safeguarding and DBS checks, and contribute to client retention and business development.
Requirements
- Experience providing complex or generalist HR advice to senior leaders in a highly unionised environment.
- Strong employee relations experience and current knowledge of employment legislation, HR systems, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrated success resolving casework problems and supporting challenging employee relations issues.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, planning, and time-management skills.
- Experience working with trade unions, developing policies and procedures, and delivering training.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent HR qualification, or active study toward it, with ongoing CPD.
