What you will do

  • Establish and maintain active monitoring of ANSI X12 277CA claim acknowledgment transactions.
  • Own the Athena Health AR aging report and drive systematic reduction of the over-180-day AR balance.
  • Build and manage a structured denial work queue, analyzing trends to implement root-cause controls.
  • Oversee the collections process for claims-billed payer populations and coordinate employer group collections.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop back-end RCM staff, including AR specialists and denial analysts.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of revenue cycle management experience with a focus on back-end functions (AR, denials, collections).
  • Deep expertise in payer-specific denial reason codes, appeal processes, and timely filing requirements.
  • Experience with Athena Health or comparable practice management and claims systems.
  • Proven ability to build and lead a collections and denial management team.
  • Must be based in the US (excluding AK, AR, DE, HI, ME, MS, NM, OK, SD, VT, WI).
  • Proactive use of AI tools to improve individual output and efficiency.
