Lead Mechanical Engineer (Hardware): Overseeing the development of complex electromechanical products from concept through to high-volume production with an accent on cross-functional architectural decisions and team leadership. Location: Must be based in San Francisco and work from the office 5 days/week

Salary: $240K – $300K + Equity

What you will do

• Lead mechanical engineering execution across the full development cycle including EVT, DVT, PVT, and ramp.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership on architectural trade-offs involving thermals, fluids, mechanisms, and sensing.
• Manage and coach a team of mechanical, soft goods, and prototype engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in electrical, software, clinical, and operations to launch products.
• Travel to Asia to manage suppliers and ensure successful production goals.
• Implement systems and processes for design reviews and team efficiency.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing complex electromechanical systems, preferably in high-volume consumer hardware.
• Proven track record of scaling products to high-volume production in Asia.
• Deep expertise in injection molding, sensor integration, and mechanism design.
• Must be able to work from the San Francisco office 5 days/week.
• Willingness and ability to travel to China as needed.
• BSME or equivalent degree.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with thermal engineering, fluid systems, actuators, and soft goods.
• Experience leading early-stage product development and feasibility prototyping.
