TL;DR

Associate Director - Business Development (Asset Finance): Identifying and acquiring new mid-market clients to provide cashflow and asset finance solutions with an accent on deal structuring and high-value relationship management. Focus on navigating the credit underwriting process, leveraging extensive professional networks, and negotiating complex financial agreements.

Location: Hybrid (Bristol, Southampton, Watford, or Essex); must spend at least 40% of time (2+ days per week) at office sites or meeting clients

What you will do

  • Establish new relationships and identify high-potential prospects in the Mid-Markets segment (£25m - £500m turnover).
  • Utilize business research and prospecting tools to target and prioritize new client opportunities.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from first contact and trust-building to arranging meetings and explaining the value proposition.
  • Collaborate with relationship teams to agree on credit lines and structure financial solutions.
  • Provide comprehensive handovers to relationship colleagues while offering ongoing support where needed.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in business development through direct client acquisition.
  • Expert knowledge of Asset Finance products to maximize delivery across all channels.
  • Experience working with mid or large corporate clients within the financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in the credit and underwriting process, including the ability to analyze financial documents.
  • Extensive connections and an active presence within local professional networks.
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with internal coverage colleagues and external business introducers.
