What you will do

• Perform and lead Oracle Database upgrades, patching, and software deployments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Conduct 3rd-line diagnostics, performance tuning, and fault resolution for complex database and application connectivity issues.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of analysts, serving as the primary escalation point.
• Engage directly with customers to manage priorities and provide recommendations on stability and resilience.
• Develop scripts and automated health checks to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
• Collaborate with Networks, UNIX/Linux, and Cloud Ops teams to resolve cross-platform issues.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration, including upgrades and patching.
• Experience supporting Local government customers using Revenues, benefits, or Housing solutions.
• Proficiency in installing and supporting software on Linux and Solaris.
• Hands-on deployment and support of Apache Tomcat-based applications.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

Nice to have

• Oracle Certification.
• Experience with Apache Web Server configuration and support.
• Unix/Linux shell scripting skills for automation.
• Knowledge of networking concepts relevant to database and application support.
