What you will do

• Lead the development of functional safety system requirements and functional decomposition for automotive systems.
• Review and approve HARA, Functional Safety Requirements, Technical Safety Requirements, and validation tests.
• Define the functional safety concept for system, hardware, and software according to ISO 26262 standards.
• Lead the development of SOTIF requirements for autonomous driving and core subsystems.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, design, and validation engineers to ensure design safety compliance.
• Oversee program functional safety readiness processes, metrics, and supplier interfaces.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Minimum 8 years of work experience as a functional safety engineer or in a related role.
• Extensive in-depth knowledge of ISO 26262 and a proven track record of delivering functional safety work products.
• One year or more of experience performing SOTIF analysis.
• Proficiency with functional safety tools (e.g., Medini, APIS IQ) and requirements management tools (e.g., Jama).
• BS degree in an engineering discipline such as Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Knowledge of CMMI and Automotive Spice.
• Experience developing and delivering embedded system hardware and/or software.
• Advanced engineering degrees.
