What you will do

• Collaborate with functional safety, systems, and AI-ML teams to ensure SOTIF targets are achieved.
• Lead SOTIF evaluations and guide engineering teams to meet acceptance criteria.
• Identify functional insufficiencies and triggering conditions through rigorous risk assessment.
• Define verification and validation targets for complex safety scenarios.
• Evaluate design specifications for SOTIF maturity and drive necessary system improvements.
• Communicate safety metrics and risk assessments to key stakeholders and management.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US.
• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years or Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• Expertise in ISO 21448 (SOTIF), ISO-PAS 8800 (Safety and AI), and ISO 26262 (Functional Safety).
• Strong knowledge of automotive, heavy-duty truck, or aerospace industries.
• Proven ability to lead safety initiatives and influence cross-functional teams.
• Analytical mindset with experience in risk assessment and safety requirement derivation.

Nice to have

• Understanding of AI-ML techniques.
• Experience in software development using C++, Python, or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Working knowledge of Jama, CAMEO, and JIRA.
• Experience in SAFe AGILE environments.
