VC Partnerships Lead (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid, with staff expected to be in an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time. Visa sponsorship is available, subject to role and candidate eligibility.

Annual salary: $215,000–$300,000 USD.

What you will do

• Develop and lead the startup partnerships strategy using Anthropic's AI technology and industry partnerships.
• Build relationships with venture capital firms, entrepreneurial communities, and startup accelerators.
• Create startup-focused offerings, programs, campaigns, promotions, and growth initiatives.
• Build relationship models with accelerator partners and drive portfolio companies to build on Claude.
• Plan and execute startup-focused events while tracking metrics and reporting initiative ROI.
• Gather product feedback and represent startup community needs in Anthropic's product roadmap.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in partnerships, founder/operator roles, growth, or technical go-to-market roles.
• Deep understanding of the startup ecosystem and AI/ML technology landscape, with the ability to discuss technical products credibly with technical audiences.
• Experience building relationships with VCs, working at a VC firm, or partnering with accelerators to drive portfolio engagement.
• Ability to build 0-to-1 programs from scratch, manage multiple responsibilities, and scale initiatives based on data.
• Proven ability to develop and execute complex, cross-functional go-to-market programs.
• Exceptional communication skills and outstanding writing ability for founders, developers, and VCs.
• Comfort working in fast-paced environments with a bias to action and ambiguity.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; relevant education, training, coursework, or professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience founding a company or leading product at a high-growth startup.
• Direct experience working for or with venture capital firms such as Y Combinator, Lightspeed Ventures, Accel, a16z, or Sequoia Capital.
• Technical background as a developer, a product manager with hands-on coding experience, or through deep familiarity with AI/ML development workflows.
• Developer advocacy or developer relations experience with an active presence in technical communities.
• Familiarity with large language models and generative AI applications.
• Existing relationships with venture capital firms, startup accelerators, and entrepreneurial communities.
