TL;DR
CTO - BFSI Technology & Transformation (m/f/d) (BFSI technology and transformation): Defining and driving the strategic direction of banking, financial services, and insurance technology offerings with an accent on executive advisory, architecture, and large-scale modernization. Focus on authoring differentiated industry perspectives, influencing complex deals, shaping transformation roadmaps, and building global BFSI capabilities.
Location: Remote, Germany; candidates must be based in Germany or Austria, be near a office, and work in a hybrid model.

What you will do
- Define the strategic direction of the global Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance business.
- Advise CTOs, CIOs, CDOs, and Chief Risk Officers on technology strategy, architecture, and transformation roadmaps.
- Develop differentiated BFSI Points of View covering core modernization, AI-driven underwriting, real-time payments, open banking, ESG risk, and embedded finance.
- Shape pursuit strategies, solution positioning, and executive narratives for complex deals with sales and delivery leaders.
- Represent the business as a keynote speaker, panelist, and industry thought leader.
- Build external advisory networks and mentor global client-facing teams.
Requirements
- 20+ years of deep BFSI experience, ideally as a former CTO, CIO, Chief Architect, senior technology leader, or senior banker with direct technology ownership.
- Expertise in modern BFSI architectures, including Temenos, Finastra, FIS, ISO 20022, SWIFT, real-time payments, risk and compliance systems, and data and AI ecosystems.
- Experience leading or governing enterprise-wide technology transformation programs at global financial institutions.
- Strong knowledge of Basel IV, DORA, MiFID II, GDPR, SR 11-7, and BCBS 239.
- Fluent German and English are required.
- An MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
