Mechanical Designer (Aerospace): Leading the development and verification of spacecraft mechanical subsystems with an accent on structural and thermal analysis, prototyping, and integration. Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario. Relocation packages available for approved roles.
Salary: $100,622 - 150,622 CAD

What you will do
- Lead spacecraft mechanical subsystem development from concept through flight qualification and transition into production.
- Perform structural and thermal analyses and maintain models to predict hardware performance.
- Drive technical trade studies and design decisions using first-principles engineering and simulation.
- Plan and execute prototype builds, environmental testing, and qualification campaigns to reduce technical risk.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with RF, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to develop integrated solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience developing mechanical systems from concept through validation.
- Proficiency in CAD platforms such as Onshape, Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics, and hardware integration.
- Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM), assembly, integration, and test principles.
- Must be based in or able to relocate to Toronto, Ontario for a hybrid work arrangement.
Nice to have
- Experience developing spacecraft, satellites, or other mission-critical aerospace hardware.
- Experience with Simcenter 3D, Simcenter/NX NASTRAN, or Simcenter Space Systems Thermal.
- Familiarity with ESA ECSS, NASA, or equivalent aerospace design standards.
- Eligibility for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensure in a Canadian jurisdiction.
