What you will do

• Lead spacecraft mechanical subsystem development from concept through flight qualification and transition into production.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses and maintain models to predict hardware performance.
• Drive technical trade studies and design decisions using first-principles engineering and simulation.
• Plan and execute prototype builds, environmental testing, and qualification campaigns to reduce technical risk.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with RF, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to develop integrated solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience developing mechanical systems from concept through validation.
• Proficiency in CAD platforms such as Onshape, Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics, and hardware integration.
• Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM), assembly, integration, and test principles.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Toronto, Ontario for a hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience developing spacecraft, satellites, or other mission-critical aerospace hardware.
• Experience with Simcenter 3D, Simcenter/NX NASTRAN, or Simcenter Space Systems Thermal.
• Familiarity with ESA ECSS, NASA, or equivalent aerospace design standards.
• Eligibility for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensure in a Canadian jurisdiction.
