Manager, Product Engineering & Innovation (Furniture)

What you will do

• Collaborate with furniture designers to solve engineering challenges from early concepts through production readiness.
• Design reusable platform innovations, including assembly systems, connection mechanisms, and cover attachment solutions.
• Simplify product platforms by reducing part counts, improving tolerances, making assembly more intuitive, and lowering costs.
• Improve product quality, transportation efficiency, logistics, and packaging within strict weight and dimensional limits.
• Develop and troubleshoot materials and construction, including foam, fill, cover fabrics, and structural components.
• Build continuous improvement processes by turning customer feedback, complaints, returns data, and reviews into product improvements.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience in product, mechanical, or industrial engineering, ideally in consumer products, consumer electronics, soft goods, or a similar field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, materials, tolerances, and design for manufacturability.
• Experience designing scalable systems or platforms across a product line.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar, plus experience building and testing physical prototypes.
• Ability to collaborate closely with designers, suppliers, and non-engineering stakeholders and clearly explain engineering tradeoffs.
• Comfort working across materials, connector tooling, packaging geometry, and other product engineering areas in a fast-moving environment.
