Associate Manufacturing Engineer (Hardware)

What you will do

• Support DFM, DFA, and DFx reviews for PCB assemblies and system-level networking hardware.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, BOMs, PFMEAs, and control plans.
• Participate in NPI builds (EVT/DVT/PVT) at contract manufacturing sites and internal labs.
• Analyze production data (yield, scrap, cycle time) to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
• Perform root-cause analysis and 8D problem solving for major production issues.
• Coordinate ECO and MCO changes on the production line with supply chain and CM partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (including internships or capstone projects).
• Working knowledge of electronic assembly processes (SMT, PTH, BGA) and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T fundamentals, BOMs, and schematics.
• Proficiency with Excel for data analysis.
• Must be located in North Carolina, US, to support regular on-site presence on the production floor.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLM or ERP systems such as Agile, Arena, Oracle, or SAP.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, or Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD).
