Director, Technical Accounting (SaaS): Leading the technical accounting function to ensure US GAAP and IFRS compliance for a high-growth cloud contact center platform with an accent on complex transactions, financial reporting, and policy documentation. Focus on directing the internal-use software capitalization process (ASC 350-40), partnering with Engineering and Product teams to integrate accounting requirements into the SDLC, and managing SOX compliance.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in or commute to the Dallas office 3 days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Salary: $107,900 - $336,200 USD

What you will do

• Serve as the primary SME for complex US GAAP matters, focusing on SaaS standards, business combinations, and leases.
• Lead the strategy and execution of internal-use software capitalization (ASC 350-40 / ASU 2025-06) and cloud computing arrangements.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, and IT to integrate accounting requirements into the SDLC and agile sprint cycles.
• Manage the review of month-end and quarter-end close packages and oversee technical accounting domains, including stock-based compensation.
• Own the relationship with external auditors and ensure all processes strictly adhere to SOX internal control frameworks.
• Collaborate with Legal, Corporate Development, Tax, and Treasury to provide critical accounting guidance during contract negotiations.

Requirements

• Active CPA license is strictly required.
• 8-12 years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and experience within a public SaaS or high-growth tech company.
• Deep practical knowledge of US GAAP and hands-on experience implementing ASC 350-40 (Internal-Use Software).
• Proven experience managing and mentoring at least one direct report.
• Ability to translate complex accounting requirements into actionable processes for non-finance technical teams.
• Must be able to work from the Dallas office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Nice to have

• Experience with modern cloud-based ERP systems such as NetSuite.
• Experience using Jira or Jellyfish for engineering project tracking.
