What you will do

• Act as the company’s SME for technical accounting, providing guidance on complex transactions and evolving standards.
• Lead the research, evaluation, and documentation of technical accounting conclusions under US GAAP.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and external auditors to assess the impact of strategic transactions and operational changes.
• Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, US GAAP, and international statutory financial reporting.
• Monitor and implement emerging FASB and SEC guidance to maintain operational maturity.
• Mentor members of the accounting organization and advise senior leadership on practical business insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and an active CPA license.
• 12+ years of experience in public accounting or industry, preferably in high-growth SaaS environments.
• 6+ years of deep technical accounting expertise, including ASC 606 and Stock-Based Compensation.
• 4+ years of progressive leadership experience building high-performing teams.
• Experience operating in a SOX-compliant environment with a strong understanding of internal controls.
• Must be based in or able to work from Austin, Chicago, New York City, Salt Lake City, or San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Big 4 public accounting experience, including advisory practice or National Office rotation.
• Expertise in business combinations, consolidation, leases, and M&A deal structuring.
• Background in high-growth AI or cloud technology companies.
