TL;DR
Director, Corporate Accounting (Fintech): Owning core accounting operations and overseeing the accounts payable function with an accent on optimizing month-end close and financial reporting. Location: Hybrid (3 days in office in New York City). Candidates outside of NYC, SF, or SLC may be eligible for relocation assistance.
Salary: $200,000–$220,000 USD (for NYC market)

What you will do
- Manage all aspects of the month-end close, including cash, fixed assets, payroll, and stock-based compensation.
- Drive improvements in the close process, focusing on accuracy, timeliness, and the formalization of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Act as a strategic partner in the selection, design, and implementation of the company's future ERP system.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function, supervising day-to-day operations and driving process automation.
- Develop and enforce accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP and train staff on internal controls and SOX readiness.
- Collaborate with Strategic Finance and treasury teams to optimize the chart of accounts and reporting structures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license in good standing.
- 10+ years of relevant accounting experience in leadership positions, preferably within a public company.
- Deep practical knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 450, 842, 470, 718, and 350-40.
- Experience with ERP implementation (record-to-report and procure-to-pay modules) and AP/T&E systems like Ramp or Bill.com.
- Strong experience designing and operating internal controls within FSCP and PTP processes.

- Prior Big 4 experience.
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or other regulated high-growth environments.
