Location: Permanent Remote. Must be able to work 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Melbourne, AU Time (AEST)

What you will do

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders.
• Handle complex tax matters including CGT, ESS, managed funds, rental properties, and cryptocurrency.
• Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss accounts, including ATO balance sheet items like GST and PAYGW.
• Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS, fuel tax credit calculations, and state payroll tax across multiple jurisdictions.
• Review and oversee work prepared by junior accountants to ensure accuracy and meeting of deadlines.
• Collaborate with bookkeeping teams and client managers to streamline compliance processes and improve file quality.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in Australian tax and compliance within an Australian Tax accounting firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Commerce, or Business (Accounting major).
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax law, including FBT, Division 7A, and trust structures.
• Xero Certified with confidence using Xero, Xero Tax, and XPM.
• High level of written and spoken English proficiency.
• Available to work on the Melbourne, AU Time (AEST) schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a BPO or outsourced accounting environment.
• SMSF experience.
• Familiarity with tools such as Karbon or Koinly.
