Instructional Design Manager (SaaS)

TL;DR

Instructional Design Manager (SaaS): Establishing a professional instructional design practice from the ground up for a scaling SaaS platform with an accent on standards, SOPs, and content quality. Focus on defining ID methodologies, evaluating authoring tools, and developing high-impact learning materials for onboarding and technical certifications.

Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX (In office 2-3 days per week). This position is NOT eligible for Visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Establish the instructional design practice, including standards, methodologies, and quality benchmarks.
• Create SOPs, templates, and style guides to govern training content creation and remediation.
• Lead the strategy for authoring tools, including evaluation, procurement, and team adoption.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, CS, Technical) to translate business needs into learning solutions.
• Personally design and develop high-quality materials such as eLearning modules, facilitator guides, and assessments.
• Manage the instructional design queue and mentor junior designers as the team grows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of instructional design experience, with 2+ years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Proven ability to build or mature an ID practice with repeatable processes.
• Strong command of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theory.
• Experience with LMS and familiarity with SCORM/xAPI standards.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for content drafting, personalization, and rapid prototyping.
• Must be based in or be able to work hybrid in Austin, Texas.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate.
• Familiarity with WorkRamp or similar LMS platforms used by SaaS revenue teams.
• Background in fast-growth B2B SaaS or technology companies.
• Experience building and managing a small team of instructional designers.
