TL;DR

Development & Research Senior Engineer (Metallurgical Engineering): Leading material and failure analysis investigations for metallurgical product development with an accent on design support and failure investigation. Focus on developing metallurgical testing plans, analyzing results, and providing technical solutions for complex manufacturing challenges.

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Mossville, IL, USA. Domestic relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $112,710 - $169,060

What you will do

  • Lead material and failure analysis investigations to provide design support.
  • Develop detailed metallurgical testing plans and analyze resulting data.
  • Create technical reports and procedures to communicate results to internal customers.
  • Provide technical support to metallurgical laboratory operations and product design teams.
  • Support deviation requests and assurance of supply opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations to internal stakeholders and supplier development engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical or Materials Science Engineering.
  • Must be based in or eligible for domestic relocation to the USA.
  • Work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Strong analytical thinking and critical decision-making capabilities for root cause analysis.
  • Experience in product testing and troubleshooting technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in managing technical projects and adhering to manufacturing standards.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Prior failure analysis experience with ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Experience with foundry, casting, and heat treatment processes.
  • Proven track record of creating technical publications and reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
