TL;DR

Metallurgical Engineer (Manufacturing): Conducting failure and metallurgical analysis to provide design support and development across a diverse customer portfolio with an accent on material analysis investigations and testing plans. Focus on resolving design and manufacturing issues, ensuring manufacturing readiness, and performing root cause analysis of component failures.

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Mossville, IL. Relocation assistance available. Sponsorship is NOT available.

Salary: $81,370 - $122,060

What you will do

  • Lead material analysis investigations and develop detailed metallurgical testing plans.
  • Create technical reports and procedures to communicate findings effectively to internal customers.
  • Provide technical support to metallurgical laboratory operations personnel.
  • Ensure design acceptance and manufacturing readiness by resolving issues related to design or manufacturing.
  • Support Met Lab process controls and compliance for certifications and audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; Visa sponsorship is NOT available.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidelines and methodologies.
  • Experience with engineering processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in product testing approaches and troubleshooting technical problems.

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of professional experience in failure analysis with ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • In-depth understanding of ASTM specifications for tensile, Charpy impact, Rockwell hardness, and spectroscopic chemistry analysis.
  • Experience in creating technical publications or professional procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills for working on multiple concurrent projects.
