Director, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting (AI/SaaS): Own technical accounting and financial reporting to prepare for first external audit and IPO readiness with an accent on revenue recognition (ASC 606), equity transactions (ASC 718), and GAAP financial statements. Focus on quarterbacking audits, managing external advisors, defending positions, and building scalable policies and SOX controls.

What you will do

• Own technical accounting for revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, capitalized software, leases, business combinations, and financing instruments.
• Prepare GAAP financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and registration disclosures from the ground up.
• Quarterback external audit: build policy library, PBC process, and serve as primary technical contact.
• Scope and manage external advisors and valuation specialists on 409As, PPAs, and intangibles.
• Partner on tax, transfer pricing, intercompany accounting, and lay foundation for SEC reporting and SOX.
• Leverage AI for research, drafting, automation; build tooling; develop team as scaling.

Requirements

• Active CPA with Big 4/national firm foundation.
• 8+ years in technical accounting/financial reporting with deep US GAAP fluency across ASC 606, 718, 842, 805.
• Hands-on experience preparing GAAP statements/footnotes from scratch and managing auditors/consultants.
• AI-native mindset: daily LLM use for drafting/research; vibe-coding in Python/SQL.
• Builder's instinct, high ownership, strong communication for non-accountants.

Nice to have

• Prior first external audit or IPO/S-1 experience.
• Capitalized software in SaaS/AI; international transfer pricing.
• Workiva, NetSuite, FloQast knowledge.
