Global Payroll Specialist (HR Operations): Managing payroll administration for a global workforce across the UK, US, Canada, and Australia with an accent on regulatory compliance and accurate timely delivery. Location: Remote (Must be based in Ontario or Nova Scotia). Required to attend on-site events 2-4 times per year in the NYC office.

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 CAD

What you will do

  • Administer payroll for approximately 250 employees across the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and Portugal.
  • Manage payroll deductions, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting of employee withholdings.
  • Ensure all federal, state, provincial, and local payroll tax registrations and filings are up to date.
  • Collaborate with People and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll setup for all new hires.
  • Administer regional retirement and pension plans, including US 401(k), UK Pension, and Australian Superannuation.
  • Produce cyclical payroll reports and provide documentation and research for audits.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Payroll or HR Generalist/People Operations role.
  • Experience administering payroll in the UK or US with knowledge of local laws and regulations.
  • Must be based in Ontario or Nova Scotia.
  • Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS); experience with Deel is a plus.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information and handle time-sensitive priorities.

Nice to have

  • Experience handling payroll across multiple international regions.
  • Experience with retirement and pension plan administration (401(k), Superannuation, etc.).
