TL;DR

Technical Sales Engineer (Manufacturing): Driving technical deal outcomes for autonomous factories in aerospace and defense with an accent on aligning customer requirements with manufacturing capabilities. Focus on part qualification, CNC manufacturability analysis, and scaling technical sales frameworks.

Location: On-site in Los Angeles, CA. Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (ITAR requirements).

Salary: $136,000 – $203,000 + Equity & Commission

What you will do

  • Partner with Sales Directors as the lead technical expert to drive successful deal outcomes and align requirements with capabilities.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable technical approaches and build trust with engineering teams.
  • Guide part downselection and develop scalable frameworks for part qualification and prioritization.
  • Analyze manufacturability, tolerances, and materials to reduce technical ambiguity prior to handoff.
  • Train sales teams on technical fit and create tools such as part selection guides and onsite playbooks.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to refine capability positioning and inform the roadmap.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machining and advanced production environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex B2B sales cycles with technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for ITAR authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Experience establishing or scaling a Technical Sales Engineering function from the ground up.
