Associate General Counsel, Product & IP (AI)

What you will do

• Oversee and strategically manage the worldwide intellectual property portfolio.
• Develop and implement an IP strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead invention sessions, invention disclosure selection, patent drafting and filing, and patent prosecution.
• Advise business and Legal teams on US and global intellectual property laws.
• Partner with product and business teams to embed IP protection and compliance into products and processes.
• Support new product frameworks, customer experiences, and commercial agreements involving AI and intellectual property.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in-house and at a top law firm, including IP portfolio management and product counseling.
• Strategic and detail-oriented approach to complex problem-solving and business-forward legal solutions.
• Ability to assess and communicate business and legal risk to executive, business, and technical audiences.
• Deep interest in artificial intelligence, generative AI, and machine learning technologies.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• JD and active membership in the California Bar in good standing.

Nice to have

• Experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications covering artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
