Legal Counsel, IP & Technology

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $130,000–$200,000 annually, plus equity and benefits

hirify.global develops consumer mobile software, location-tracking devices, and services including Tile trackers and Pet GPS.

What you will do

• Manage and develop patent and trademark portfolios with external counsel and legal service providers.
• Lead patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis, trademark protection, enforcement, and portfolio strategy.
• Advise on intellectual property matters involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, licensing, and open source.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements covering the development, use, transfer, protection, and commercialization of IP assets.
• Support corporate transactions through IP due diligence and risk analysis.
• Review social media and promotional materials for intellectual property and consumer protection compliance.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited US law school and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
• At least five years of legal experience, including substantial patent prosecution work involving consumer software and hardware technology.
• Experience advising on patent, trademark, and open source matters.
• Experience or interest in drafting and negotiating complex intellectual property agreements.
• Strong communication, collaboration, prioritization, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated interest in using AI-powered tools and technology to improve efficiency.

Nice to have

• Technical undergraduate degree, such as computer science.
• In-house counsel experience at a consumer technology company.
• Trademark prosecution experience.
