Salary: $121,000 – $214,000 annually (depending on pay zone)

What you will do
- Plan and execute reliability testing for display technologies in AR wearable devices to assess durability and corrective action effectiveness.
- Lead comprehensive failure analysis (FA) and implement corrective actions to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Develop and systematize assessment methods for components, subassemblies, and processes.
- Collaborate with EE, ME, NPI teams, and contract manufacturers to support prototype builds and risk prioritization.
- Utilize Six Sigma and Weibull analysis to identify and reduce high-risk failure modes early in the design cycle.
- Drive continuous improvement in FA capabilities, test outcomes, and field reliability for new products.
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in failure analysis, reliability testing, and technology development.
- Experience operating and interpreting SEM/EDX, FTIR/DSC/TGA, CT X-ray, optical microscopy, and Instron.
- Solid understanding of Six Sigma concepts and ability to run Weibull and other model-based reliability analyses.
- Deep knowledge of the physics of failure and material properties (mechanical, electrical, and optical).
- Must be based in Chandler, AZ, or able to work from the office 4+ days per week.
Nice to have
- Master's or higher degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- At least 2 years of experience within the consumer electronics industry.
