Battery Pack Architect (EV Batteries)

What you will do

• Define complete battery pack architectures, including electrical topology, mechanical integration, busbar routing, thermal architecture, and enclosure design.
• Cascade system requirements, maintain design justification documentation in PLM, ensure traceability, and monitor pack KPIs.
• Integrate cells, BMS, thermal systems, high-voltage components, and electrical, thermal, mechanical, and communication interfaces.
• Define safety and protection strategies, support compliance with applicable standards, and manage normal and fault operating conditions.
• Identify technical risks, lead architecture and design reviews, and drive cost, performance, safety, manufacturability, and industrial trade-offs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of experience in battery system architecture, including ownership of system architecture for complete pack programs.
• Proven experience building a battery product from scratch and knowledge of high-voltage battery pack and mechanical design.
• Knowledge of battery pack sizing, thermal management, system-level validation, simulation, DFMEA, HARA, and ASIL allocation.
• Experience with IEC 62619, UN 38.3, GB38031, ECE R100, and ISO 26262 fundamentals.
• Fluent English is mandatory; willingness to travel internationally to customers and suppliers is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with EV OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or pack integrators.
• Knowledge of DOORS, Polarion, Jama, JIRA, or equivalent project-tracking tools.
• Experience with CATIA V5 or SolidWorks and MATLAB/Simulink.
