Thermo-Mechanical Simulation Engineer (Defense)

What you will do

• Perform thermo-mechanical simulations covering static, dynamic, vibration, shock, and fatigue behavior.
• Model pyrotechnic phenomena including explosions, pressure, fragmentation, and fluid–structure interaction.
• Define assumptions, models, boundary conditions, and acceptance criteria, then analyze and interpret results.
• Provide design and product improvement recommendations and correlate numerical results with experimental test data.
• Support the planning and preparation of test campaigns, including integration and qualification activities.
• Prepare calculation notes and simulation reports while improving simulation methods, tools, traceability, and result quality.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of structural mechanics and dynamics.
• Knowledge of finite element analysis methods and experience with explicit simulation and rapid transient phenomena.
• Knowledge of pyrotechnic and/or ballistic phenomena.
• Proficiency with one or more simulation tools: LS-DYNA, Abaqus, ANSYS, or equivalent.
• Ability to analyze complex results and translate them into technical recommendations.
• Knowledge of mechanical testing and simulation-to-test correlation.
• Hands-on engineering experience with hardware and testing activities, with the ability to independently drive integration and qualification campaigns.
• Rigorous approach to safety, documentation, regulatory compliance, and handling sensitive defense technologies.
• Strong cross-functional communication and coordination skills, with an autonomous and entrepreneurial approach.
