TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Brain-Computer Interface) (wearable electronics/EEG): Designing and validating compact electrical systems for wearable prototypes with an accent on analog and digital circuitry, sensor interfaces, low-noise EEG acquisition, and embedded hardware integration. Focus on board bring-up, signal characterization, automated hardware validation, and translating experimental prototypes into robust product designs.

Location: Paris; expected to work in an office 4+ days per week under hirify.global's “default together” policy.

Company

hirify.global develops hirify.globalchat, Specs augmented-reality eyewear, Lens Studio, Bitmoji, Saturn, and other digital services, with Specs focused on making computing more human through wearable computing.

What you will do

  • Design and develop electrical systems for wearable prototypes from architecture through implementation, validation, iteration, and productization.
  • Integrate sensors, low-noise analog front ends, power, clocks, communications, and embedded interfaces into compact wearable platforms.
  • Support schematic capture, PCB design reviews, component selection, design-for-test, hardware documentation, and collaboration with remote hardware engineering teams.
  • Lead board bring-up and debug using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Characterize signal quality, noise, interference, power behavior, and system performance; build automated or semi-automated validation workflows.
  • Collaborate with firmware, algorithms, mechanical, industrial design, and software engineers to resolve system-level issues and package electronics within compact wearable form factors.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical or hardware engineering.
  • Experience taking electronic hardware from schematic through bring-up, characterization, and iteration.
  • Experience integrating analog and digital circuitry, power management, sensors, and embedded hardware interfaces within a larger system.
  • Experience analyzing and characterizing sensor signals using laboratory equipment, filtering, spectral analysis, and noise and interference measurements.
  • Knowledge of EEG and biopotential signal acquisition, including low-noise analog front ends and signal integrity considerations.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power delivery, signal integrity, sensor interfaces, embedded hardware, battery-operated systems, and signal processing fundamentals.
  • Skill with PCB layout and schematic capture tools such as Cadence Allegro, OrCAD Capture, or Altium Designer, plus SPICE-based circuit simulation tools.
  • Ability to plan and execute hardware characterization and validation, isolate root causes across hardware, firmware, mechanical, and system-level interfaces, and communicate technical decisions and test results clearly.
  • Experience collaborating across hardware, firmware, mechanical, and software disciplines to resolve system-level integration issues.
  • Fluency in English.

Nice to have

  • Experience developing and validating wearable electronics, sensor systems, or consumer electronics.
  • Familiarity with EEG, biopotential, low-noise analog acquisition, or other physiological sensing systems.
  • Experience with flexible circuits, miniaturized electronics, high-density interconnects, or constrained mechanical packaging.
  • Experience developing hardware test automation, data acquisition, or analysis workflows using Python or similar tools.
  • Track record of moving prototypes toward productization, including production test, design-for-manufacturing, reliability testing, or engineering builds.
  • Experience translating research prototypes and experimental results into engineering requirements.

Culture & Benefits

  • “Default together” workplace approach with office attendance expected 4+ days per week.
  • Collaborative environment involving hardware, firmware, algorithms, mechanical, industrial design, and software disciplines.
  • Paid parental leave and comprehensive medical coverage.
  • Emotional and mental health support programs.
  • Compensation packages that provide participation in hirify.global’s long-term success.
