Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Vice President (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; office work Monday–Thursday with remote work flexibility on Friday

Base salary: $130,000–$160,000 annually, depending on level, plus equity and an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Evolve architecture standards for Kubernetes platforms, cloud networking, edge services, and API access.
• Design and validate Kubernetes architecture covering cluster lifecycle, autoscaling, node provisioning, and operating system standards.
• Define AWS networking patterns for VPCs, routing, ingress and egress, transit gateways, and private connectivity.
• Establish architecture guidance for CDN, DNS, TLS, API Gateway, and north-south service exposure.
• Standardize multi-account and multi-cluster architectures for scale, isolation, and operational clarity.
• Create reference architectures and design documents, review platform changes, and validate decisions through proof-of-concepts and reference implementations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in platform, cloud, or infrastructure engineering with architectural responsibility.
• Strong production experience designing and operating Kubernetes platforms.
• Deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure, networking, security primitives, and managed services.
• Experience designing cloud networking, edge architectures, ingress and egress, and traffic management.
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear standards and reference architectures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and nontechnical audiences.

Nice to have

• AWS or Kubernetes certifications.
