Technical Accounting Senior Manager

Location: Oakland, California, United States; hybrid work model with two days in the Oakland office each week.

Salary: $164,669–$205,836 USD annually.

Fivetran and dbt Labs are combining data movement and analytics engineering products to provide a trusted data infrastructure layer for analytics, AI, and business decision-making.

What you will do

• Research, analyze, and document complex technical accounting issues and prepare calculations and memos under US GAAP.
• Develop accounting policies and procedures and lead the implementation of significant changes.
• Manage inputs and review deliverables for 409A, intangible asset, equity award, and other transaction valuations.
• Collaborate with Accounting Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, HR, and other departments to operationalize accounting guidance.
• Support external reporting readiness, disclosures, process improvements, and SOX-compliant internal controls.
• Partner with auditors and consultants while training and mentoring team members on technical accounting and emerging standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA license.
• 7+ years of combined Big 4 public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience in SaaS or high-growth technology companies.
• Demonstrated technical accounting expertise, including drafting memos for complex, non-routine transactions.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks such as SOX.
• Experience with increasing external reporting, audit, or regulatory complexity.
• Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience participating in an S-1 filing or IPO project.
• Experience with automation and AI tools.
• Familiarity with NetSuite and Workiva.
