Salary: $160,000–$180,000 + equity + benefits.

What you will do

• Build and operate large-scale, reliable, and performant distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product teams to create and integrate new features.
• Ensure platform reliability and performance for millions of users.
• Manage infrastructure alongside writing production code.
• Work with a team of engineers on one of the world's largest communication platforms.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience designing and writing backend systems.
• Experience solving complex distributed system problems.
• Experience operating and maintaining critical tier 0 services.
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting best practices.
• Familiarity with open source software and ability to debug library source code.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elixir.
• Experience with cloud environments (GCP, AWS).
• Knowledge of devops tools like Salt, Terraform, or Kubernetes.
• Contributions to open source projects.
• Experience building bots or apps for the hirify.global platform.
