Backend Engineer (Python/AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Denver, Colorado, United States. U.S. Person status and active U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Salary: $120K–$180K annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Develop backend software for ground satellite operations using Python and AWS.
• Design, implement, integrate, and troubleshoot APIs and new product features.
• Integrate AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Fargate, EKS, Lambda, ECS, CloudWatch, and EFS/EBS.
• Optimize software scalability, security, cost, performance, resource utilization, and reliability.
• Contribute to generative AI integrations, DevSecOps, CI/CD tooling, and software architecture.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, backend engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams in an Agile Scrum environment.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python, GraphQL, Docker, and Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs for AI platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or AskSage.
• Strong knowledge of containerized applications and familiarity with Kubernetes cluster deployments.
• Fluency with Git and collaborative development platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 3+ years of professional backend, full-stack, or related development experience; equivalent demonstrated technical ability may be considered.
• U.S. Person status and an active U.S. Security Clearance are required; visa sponsorship is not available.
