What you will do

• Direct and oversee public works activities for wastewater treatment, water distribution, and sewer collection systems.
• Operate and manage heavy equipment, including track excavators, dump trucks, and sewer jetters.
• Lead and mentor a team of 5-10 FTEs, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, State, and corporate safety and environmental protocols.
• Manage client relationships and contracts, providing regular updates to city councils and utility boards.
• Coordinate the installation, repair, and replacement of critical water and sewer infrastructure.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Mocksville, NC, USA.
• 6 years of experience in water and wastewater operations, including 3 years in a leadership role.
• Possession of NC Water Distribution and/or Collection System certifications.
• NC Cross Connection certification, or the ability to obtain one.
• Valid NC Driver's License - Class A CDL, or the ability to obtain one.
• Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in CMMS software.
• Experience with budgeting procedures and financial monitoring.
• Strong PC skills in database and spreadsheet software.
