TL;DR

Senior Practice Engineer (Water/Wastewater): Designing and enhancing water and wastewater infrastructure for public and private clients with an accent on technical leadership and design expertise. Focus on water treatment, pump stations, and hydraulic modeling for sanitary and stormwater systems.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in or near Columbus, Youngstown, Cleveland, or Akron, Ohio

What you will do

  • Lead and contribute to the design and sustainability of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and design expertise on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Perform technical reviews, quality control, and task management to ensure high delivery standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Design water treatment, distribution, wastewater collection, and pump stations.
  • Execute hydraulic modeling for sanitary and stormwater systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License is required.
  • Extensive experience in water/wastewater design.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and support their technical development.
  • Must be located in Ohio to support the hybrid work model.

Nice to have

  • Experience with process modeling or hydraulic modeling software.
  • Prior experience with task or project management.
