Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive): Ensuring the quality of components and systems supplied for chassis and suspension from design to production with an accent on APQP and PPAP processes. Focus on driving continuous improvement, performing supplier audits, and resolving complex quality issues through root cause analysis.

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan (reporting 3+ times a week). Must be a U.S. Person and eligible for Secret U.S. Security Clearance

What you will do

• Lead APQP processes for new and revised components to ensure robust quality plans are in place.
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to resolve quality concerns and implement preventative measures.
• Utilize Statistical Quality Control methods to monitor process stability for critical characteristic components.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify adherence to quality standards and GMD requirements.
• Manage supplier corrective actions, driving root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions.
• Communicate quality performance, risks, and improvement initiatives to internal stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical field, business, or supply chain.
• 2+ years of engineering experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated experience with APQP processes and automotive PPAP.
• Understanding and application of statistical process control methodologies.
• Ability to travel 25-50% to supplier sites.
