What you will do

• Build systems that model scientific intent, experiment planning, and protocol execution across complex lab workflows.
• Design and implement secure, well-documented UIs and APIs for scientists, automation systems, and AI-driven applications.
• Develop domain models, schemas, and data contracts across SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases.
• Diagnose bottlenecks and improve system performance, observability, and reliability for production systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including ML researchers, platform engineers, and scientists to translate operational needs into software.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and shared engineering standards.

Requirements

• 4-6+ years of engineering experience building and deploying large-scale production systems.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, and Python.
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs, services, and application components.
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one NoSQL, vector database, or data lakehouse architecture.
• Experience operating production software, including debugging, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Ability to take ownership of ambiguous technical problems and deliver maintainable solutions.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Experience with orchestration tools like Flyte, Temporal, Airflow, or Prefect.
• Background in building laboratory, scientific workflow, LIMS, ELN, or ML platform products.
• Experience designing systems that support auditability, traceability, or regulated workflows.
