Senior Technical Program Manager (Quantum Computing)

Location: Berkeley, California, United States; On-site

Base salary: $140,000–$170,000 per year, plus annual bonus and equity.

Develops neutral-atom quantum computers using arrays of optically trapped atoms to advance quantum computing capabilities.

What you will do

• Manage the operation and upgrades of existing neutral-atom quantum computing hardware.
• Oversee a portfolio of research programs supporting future system generations and the company roadmap.
• Define program requirements, priorities, engineering execution plans, and delivery metrics with scientific, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, scope, schedules, resources, and changes.
• Drive technical analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation activities.
• Communicate program status and risks, support grant applications, and coordinate with external partners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, quantum, or R&D program management at multidisciplinary deep-tech companies.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in engineering, physics, or a related field.
• Program management experience in advanced technology and a record of delivering early-stage deep-tech programs or products from inception to delivery.
• Technical expertise in quantum computing and AMO physics, or the ability and willingness to learn.
• Experience working autonomously across multiple teams and with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
